  • Oh my goodness, I had a horrible night! Myriads of dreams, only one or two I remember. The worst one concerned my being on vacation at a hotel with my husband, and we suddenly had two little ones. A little girl about 3 yo and and infant son, a couple of months old. I had brought nothing for them, no change of clothing, no food or formula, no diapers...I was my worst nightmare...a horrible mother. I woke up thinking perhaps it is better I have not been able to have children...my heart was breaking and I couldn't go back to sleep. And there was this other family involved who had older children and they were going to a Christmas pagent or some other church function for the holiday. It was nasty and of all the dreams I had last night(I remember strands of them, like pieces of cobweb that float through my mind), That's the one I remember with most clarity.

The other one that is vaguely clear had me driving through a town with someone and we stopped at this church at night to see the remnent of some supposedly famous chaise lounge(Don't ask me! This was a weirder one than usual!)as I was looking at it I suddenly saw it as it was orignally, in a beautiful sky blue damask, and I saw what looked a scene from a play, being played out with it as a prop. It reminded me of the movie "Camille", with some draped across it having a coughing fit. Anyway, very strange!

Cat: to answer you question briefly, Lammas is the first harvest holiday in the Wiccan faith, and is generally celebrated on August 1st. It marks the end of summer, although, it may not seem like it. It is a greater Sabbat and is also known as "Lugnasadh" in Irish Gaelic. There is a great deal more to tell and I actually have a letter in the works to tell you more, but my computer froze.

Anyone who can add to this or correct me if I have something wrong, please feel free. I am still learning.

    Bright Blessings,

    Amethyst

Cats are rather delicate creatures and they are subject to a good many different ailments, but I have never heard of one who suffered from insomnia.          Joseph Wood Krutch

  • I often have these dreams where I can't seem to get to work.  I can't find a phone to call and tell them I'll be late and the day grows later and later as odd things happen to prevent me from getting there.  Then I wake up feeling like a bad employee.  Nothing is further from the truth.

Dreams are strange, but they are not real.  You would not be a horrible mother.

  • Oh and I look forward to that longer explanation.  How do you pronounce 'Lugnasadh?'

  • Lunassa (Long u)...

  • LOL...Cats and insomnia...now theres a conflict in words!!!

Happy Lammas!!!! You discribed it very well too...

Wow I have to say...you sure are having your fill of odd dreams lately. And I can't imagine a lady like you to ever be a bad mother. If faced with the situation, you would be a wonderful loving mom. But not having children allows you to share that love with many others...like us who are out here...have a bright wonderful lammas sister!

  • Happy Lammas!  (I am totally brand new to all of this *grin* so I'm learning)

Gosh, I hope your dreams get better!  I've had some doozies lately too.
