Month: September 2001

  • I have been to my various clubs and sites and have been blessed by the thoughts and love of others. A friend of mine wrote this and it speaks volumes...

"Already there are reports of attacks on mosques and Arab communities around the country. Those responsible for the atrocities are fanatical criminals, with no justification for their acts in the Koran. To victimize other innocents is to become terrorists ourselves. And ultimately they end up winning. So, where do we go from here? We must hold fast to what sets us apart from those who act so senselessly even as we bring them to justice."

This same friend, his brother and the rest of their group were in a horrible accident about two years ago. By rights, they should all have died, but they didn't...yes their world was turned upside down, it took about 10 months to recover, and I believe some still struggle with healing, but they survived. As they were recuperating, they were very introspective and wrote many songs to help them deal with this event in their lives.  My favorite, and I know many of my friends share this with me, is a song called "Hang On". The chorus is as follows...

"Hang on to all the little things you love, let go of all the things that don't feel good, 'cause you know, when we go, we don't take anything at all". Brother "Hang On"

May we all hang on to the love, friendship and hope that surrounds us, envelopes us, and infuses us.

  • My heart is turned to those families who are awaiting some kind of news of their loved ones. The hope, the anguish, the desperation, are palpable even here in Vegas. May the Lord and Lady comfort them in this most trying of times.

I wish people would stop and think before acting. Here in town, people of the Islamic faith or of Arab background are being harrassed and threatend. I understand the anger...the pain..the hurt...the rage...but this behaviour is not the answer. Most these people are American citizens and some have been here longer than most of the people I know.  Please think...

    May we be blessed,

  • I'm at a friend's house... I had to get out of my apartment! I spent a very long two days in front of my TV and the walls were closing in on me. I never knew I had so many tears in me. I feel like a walking water fountain!

To all my friends, I love you and appreciate your friendship.

    Bright Blessings...We need them!

  • ...I  can't breathe...oh, those poor people...those innocents...my heart is breaking for all those who have lost their lives...and yet, life continues to go on...the grounds people are mowing the lawn, my husband is off to school(under protest!), I have chores to do, yet am loathe to leave the tv. There is nothig I can do, but offer prayers for the injured and the famlies of the those killed, and pray for the safety of this country and those I love. I have always cried as I listened to accounts of terrorism in other countries, of the children and civilians that were injured and killed. It was always so far away, yet I hurt. Now it is my home that is attacked...and I will never be the same. We will never be the same...What is the answer? Can we as the human race, ever learn from these horrors?Oh Goddess I hope so...

  • Beautiful Sunday...Lazy day...relax...unwind...BREATHE.

  • I'm on vacation.......HUZZAH! A whole week to myself! I can hardly stand it! It's "pamper Amethyst week" and I plan on doing just that! It's all good!  I see sunny days by the pool(all the kids in our complex are in school! I should have the pool to myself, for the most part!) I plan on going to the park for some much needed nature time. I'm gong to begin in ernest my meditating and preparing for my dedication...I can do pretty much whatever I want to do...or not...'cause I'm on vacation!
