Month: April 2001

  • Well, We survived the first two weekends of Corona Faire. We have worked our fannies off getting our encampment running smoothly and the Captain estimates about three more weekends of work until it is where he wants it to be for this year.

Wee Wench and I have a working Galley(Huzzah! and thanks to me darlin' Robert, Dead Tom, Mr. Long and others for taking care of the Galley crew! WooHoo!)

Robert and I arrived Friday afternoon(I took a much needed mental health day from work!) It was lovely, just the two of us for a while. The weather played tag with us, as it would try to rain, then stop, then start again. Sometime during the night, I awoke to the lovely sound of rain on our pavilion. What a treat, especially since I was snug inside with me Robert keepin me warm.

We were rained upon off and on almost all day Saturday, most of the women wore their cloaks or shawls all day or at least had them close by(the wind was a wee bit nippy), but Sunday was perfect! Warm(Not hot!), with a breeze.

Oh well, time to get ready for work. Then tonight I begin preparations for this weekend's adventure in Corona.  Have a great day.

  • Rats! It's 10:00 and I am still awake! I have to be up at 2:00 to get ready to leave for California, and I'm not the least bit sleepy. Something tells me it's going to be a long 4 hour drive. I hope Tavish is willing to drive if I get sleepy. Frack!! If this is any indication as to how my weekend is going be...I'm in BIG trouble! :-) Not really...I'm sure I'll have as much fun as I ever do at a faire. Just have to get into "Katie" mode. (I really need to work on my irish accent!) Maybe I should put "Far and Away" on and absorb the accent as I try to sleep?! ;-)

  • Merry Meet and Happy Friday!! Yipeeee!!!I do love Fridays...

I was reading dreadpirate's site  and his last entry wasabout treasures and it caused me to stop and really think about all the things and people I treasure in my own life. I am truly thankful for all I have, most especially my family and friends (whom I consider to be family!) My life would be colourless and dreary with out the people I love most. Thank you dreadpirate for brightening my day!

I hope the weekend is fabulous for every one.

  • Good Morning! It is a lovely one if the light streaming through my window is any indication. I love mornings! Each one is like a rebirth, a whole new canvas on which to paint the story of my life.

Only two more days til our Faire begins.(My husband and I belong to a Pirate Re-enactment group, and we travel to Renaissance Faires. We have so much fun!) We have been in preparation for weeks now and we were wondering if we were going to make it! All the cannons are going down with the Captain on Saturday, and all that's left to actually go down are the Pirates and their ladies. Huzzah! If you would like to see what our group is all about, you can visit us at:www.roguescove.org. I have not turned in my picture and character's bio yet(I really should do that!), but you can see others of my family of Rogues and scoundrels.

Well, I must feed my cats(Merlin and Taliesin) and my hubby, and then I'm off.

    Bright Blessings,

  • Well...here I am...now what? :-P Good morning! This is going to be interesting. Now if only my computer will cooperate and not freeze on me...again! I look forward to this new adventure!

I am in the process of getting ready for work, with the fervent hope that today is as good as  Monday and Tuesday were. What a lovely week I have had. Here is to a great rest of the week.

    Bright Blessings,
